Kayaking – Learn to Kayak!

At Lackawanna State Park, North Abington Twp, PA

Thursday, August 31, 2023   (10 am-Noon)

Join us at Lackawanna State Park and try something NEW!  Kayaking is a great way to enjoy nature, and get a relaxing new view on life. Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets provided. Instruction will be provided.  First part of class is on land, learning about the boat, paddling techniques, safety, etc.  Last part of class will be on the water with your instructor.
You will bring sunscreen, water shoes, and a drink. Must be able to ambulate uneven terrain and lower yourself into and out of the kayak. Tandem kayaks are available by request. We are able to accommodate a limited number of paddlers bringing their own boats, as well. First registered, first served.
Limited space. No drop-ins. This class is for true beginners ONLY.
This event is for a maximum of 10 people and is geared towards older adults.

This event is Free of Charge to Greenhouse Project OAOA Members – and $20 for all other attendees.

Please note:
Due to a high rate of “No-Shows” in recent times – we now require a $20 deposit to hold your spot for any kayaking sessions. This deposit will be refunded to you after you have enjoyed the paddle. For those that do not show up (keeping someone else from enjoying the opportunity to enjoy that time on the water), your $20 will be considered a donation to The Greenhouse Project.
