Chair Yoga (Online)

These online, small-group Zoom sessions are casual and uplifting. Must have access to a computer or smartphone to connect.
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting. Some poses can also be done standing using your chair for support. This practice can improve your flexibility, concentration and strength, improve your mood, reduce stress and relieve joint pain.
In this online class you will experience a variety of yoga postures, stretches and strengthening exercises. A majority of work will be done while seated in the chair. You will also be practicing some standing and balancing poses while using the chair for support. Open to all but intended for those 60 yrs. and older.
You will need:
- A straight back chair (without arms is best) set on a non-slip surface
- 2 yoga blocks and a yoga strap. If you don’t have a yoga strap, you can use an old belt, or a necktie.
- The Zoom room will open at 9:50am so people have a chance to meet and greet. Class starts at 10:00am promptly and ends by 11:15am
